Used only for opportunities that have gender preferences (e.g. women composer programs). Optional — leaving blank means we don't filter you in or out.

Email handoff

When you click Open in... after drafting an email, which mail tool should the app open? Apple Mail is the macOS default, but most fellows use Gmail or Outlook in a browser.

Gmail (in browser)

Pops open Gmail in a new tab with To, subject, and body pre-filled.

Outlook (in browser)

Pops open Outlook web in a new tab with everything pre-filled.

Yahoo Mail (in browser)

Pops open Yahoo Mail compose in a new tab with everything pre-filled.

ProtonMail

ProtonMail uses the system mailto: handler. Make sure ProtonMail is set as your browser's default mail app (Chrome/Firefox: site settings → handlers) or that ProtonMail Bridge is running on your Mac.

Whatever my OS uses (Apple Mail, default mailto handler, etc.)

Uses your computer's default mail app. On a Mac that's usually Apple Mail unless you've changed it in System Settings.

Saved automatically. You can change it any time. Doesn't affect the Copy draft button — that always works the same way.

Who sees what

Saad and Theodore can coach you better when they have context. You decide how much to share.

Show my age to admins (Saad, Theodore)

Useful for context on age-bracketed opportunities and program coaching.

Show my gender to admins

Off by default. Used only if you want admin guidance on gender-eligible opportunities.

Always visible to admins: your name, country, career stage, education level, all data needed for opportunity matching. Never visible to admins unless you opt in: age and gender. Never visible to other fellows: any of this.

Why does the app need any of this?

Half the opportunities listed every month have eligibility rules: age cutoffs, country restrictions, career-stage requirements. Without this profile, the Opportunities page just shows you everything and makes you sort it yourself. With it, the app does the sorting and tells you which ones you actually qualify for, and why.
